One of the highlights of the Palm Springs Art Museum is a large collection of photographs by American photographer Richard Avedon (1925-2004). Avedon was famous for portrait potography, including photos of many hollywood celebrities. But his best work is a series of portraits he took for a worked called, "In the American West." This one is called, "Allen Silvy, drifter, Route 93, Chloride, Nevada, December 14, 1980."
