Palm Springs

I was in Palm Springs from November 29 through December 3rd. On my first full day in Palm Springs, I checked out the Palm Springs Art Museum. This horse sculpture, called "Ryuanji" by American artist Deborah Butterfield, is made of bronze. The sculpture was originally constructed of driftwood, but was then disassembled and a mold was made of each individual piece of driftwood. Next, the wood was burned out of the molds and molten bronze was poured in. Finally, each piece of bronze was reassembled into the horse.
