On June 27th I took the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up Mount San Jacinto. The elevation at the mountain tram station is 8500 feet. I hiked the San Jacinto Peak trail. The total round trip distance from the mountain tram station to the peak and back is 11 miles, with 2300-foot elevation gain. This shot was taken near the tram station.
About halfway to the top were some great vistas looking to the southwest and west.

Passing another tram car as we approach the end of the 12 minute journey from the mountain station back to the valley station. The temperature at the top was probably in the mid to upper 70s. Back in Palm Springs, the temperature was 108.
