I arrived in Palm Springs on the evening of June 26. Earlier that day, the Supreme Court handed down decisions on two civil rights cases: Hollingsworth v. Perry (prop 8 case) and United States v. Windsor (DOMA case). That evening in Palm Springs there was a celebration rally at the base of the Marilyn Monroe statue.
